Top 12 Halloween Events Vancouver Has to Offer in 2024

Vancouver is well-known for being a family-friendly city and having something for everyone. Halloween is no exception. There are so many Halloween events Vancouver offers annually for all ages.

Looking for things to do in the fall in Vancouver? These themed events are some of the most seasonally appropriate things you can do in October. Without further ado, let’s take a look at some Halloween events in Vancouver.

1. Canyon Fright

If you’re looking to visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, consider doing it during the Canyon Fright event. For this duration, the park takes an orange and red hue and is decorated with traditional Halloween items.

The event is completely family-friendly and appropriate for children of all ages.

2. Pumpkin After Dark

Is there anything that brings the spirit of Halloween quite like thousands and thousands of Jack-o’-lanterns? Another family-friendly Halloween event in Vancouver is this celebration of all things Halloween.

This event is held annually across Canada and in one location in the USA, and it is appropriate for kids of all ages. A night of Halloween fun for the whole family!

3. Big Halloween Run

Thinking something more active is more appropriate for Halloween? Consider the big Halloween run. This community run takes you around Vancouver and focuses on having fun while remaining active.

Customs are mandatory and provided with registration, and kids of all ages are welcome. This event is also wheelchair accessible.

4. Halloween Mystery Nights

Were you a fan of Scooby Doo as a kid? Ever wanted to be part of Mystery Inc.? Well, now you can! Vancouver’s mystery nights run all year round, but they are spookier this time of the year.

There are three separate mysteries you can solve, depending on what’s more to your taste. The event is recommended for teens and young adults, but children accompanied by adults can also join.

5. Fang-Tastic Halloween

The Britannia Mine Museum is one of our favourite museums in Vancouver. The place takes on a new look and attire for four days near Halloween. New festivities such as an underground tour, the Castle of Myth, and a bat exhibition are all available for this event.

The Fang-Tastic Halloween Event is available to kids of all ages and is an educational and entertaining day for everyone.

6. Chilliwack Corn Maze

2024 marks the 25th annual Chilliwack Corn Maze in Greendale Acres Farm. This farm offers entertainment services all year round, but the maze is specific to October. As a classic Halloween element, a corn maze is the perfect place to spend your Halloween Eve.

The maze isn’t the only thing Greendale offers. There is a giant jumping pillow, a bubble barn, farm foods, and so much more. Greendale Acres Farm has one of the most fun Halloween events Vancouver has to offer.

7. Forbidden Vancouver Walking Tours

This tour always feels like Halloween, but it’s even more special in October. Although the tour itself doesn’t hold any events for Halloween, they do have Halloween dates, and they run out fast.

Although the tour doesn’t ban it, the walk is not recommended for children under 12. It is also unlikely that they would find it particularly interesting. The tour is recommended for teenagers and young adults.

8. Haunted at Maan Farm

Known as the “Scariest Corn Maze,” this farm is one of Vancouver’s most popular destinations for Halloween. There are many activities at this event, but the haunted houses are the most popular ones.

The Kept, Forsaken, and Echo are the biggest parts of this haunted farm. This attraction is not recommended for people under 14, people with asthma, and pregnant people.

9. Movies in the Morgue

Interested in being closer to the dead? Well, consider watching a movie with them! Every year around Halloween, the Vancouver Police Museum allows you to enter the city’s old morgue and watch a movie.

As they advertise on their website, you can watch a movie while the ghosts watch you. Whether kids are allowed or not depends on the movie of the hour. If the movie is appropriate for kids, which it seldom is, then the event allows for kids as well.

10. Dead Fellows Haunted Brewhouse

An event that only caters to adults is the Dead Fellow Haunted Brewhouse. The brew house mixes two of our favourite things, drinking and horror. Every year around fall, this brewhouse turns into a haunted house you must escape.

Your reward for escaping? Well, what do you expect from a brewhouse but a cold glass of beer? This event does allow for children, as long as they are accompanied by adults. However, it is unlikely that your kids would enjoy it.

11. Fright Night at the PNE

Speaking of haunted houses brings us to Pacific National Exhibit’s haunted event. The activities in this event include a haunted house, a series of caves called The Void, and a creepy doll factory.

There is a lot to do at Fight Night, and the event is for people over the age of 13. Be aware of the unavoidable lineup outside despite the efforts for time management.

12. Central Spark

Looking for free Halloween events Vancouver offers? The parks are always a good choice. Burnaby’s Central Park has an annual celebration of Halloween in the form of a free and public festival.

There are food trucks, a DJ, a light display, and, to end the night on a loud and colourful note, beautiful fireworks for the closing ceremony. This night of family-fun can be your perfect plan for Halloween this year.

Conclusion

Vancouver does not lack in terms of horror and spooky fun. If you’re looking forward to being spooked, creeped out, or straight-up horrified, then there are tons of Halloween events Vancouver offers.
